November 4th. Election Day

As Owner/Brokers of Silver Elk Realty,– We firmly believe that the one true way every American can show thier patriotism is by voting.  Here is what you need to know about this years state election!  These are the dates for statewide constitutional amendment elections, special elections, and local propositions. 
 
Key deadlines: 
  • Last day to register to vote: October 6, 2025
  • First day of early voting: October 20, 2025
  • Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot (received): October 24, 2025
  • Last day of early voting: October 31, 2025 
Ballot measures
Seventeen statewide propositions covering a wide range of issues will be on the ballot. 
  • Taxes: Measures include a permanent ban on capital gains taxes, increased property tax exemptions for elderly or disabled homeowners, and exemptions for border security infrastructure.
  • Water infrastructure: One proposition would dedicate a portion of state sales tax revenue to the Texas water fund.
  • Judicial conduct: A proposed amendment would change the membership and authority of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
  • Bail reform: A measure would allow judges to deny bail in some felony cases involving violent or sexual offenses.
  • Voter requirements: Voters will decide on an amendment to clarify that only U.S. citizens may vote in Texas.
  • Parental rights: One proposition is aimed at affirming the right of parents to make decisions regarding their children’s upbringing. 
Special elections
Special elections will be held to fill vacant seats, including: 
  • Texas’ 18th Congressional District: To fill the seat previously held by the late Sylvester Turner.
  • Texas Senate District 9: To fill the seat previously held by Kelly Hancoc
